Java is an object-oriented programming language designed to create software that will run on a web page.
If you are using any Netscape Navigator version 3.x browser, select "Network Preferences" from the "Options" menu along the top navigational bar of the browser. From here, click on the "Languages" folder and verify that the two fields located here—Enable Java Script and Enable Java—have been enabled.
If you are using a Netscape Communicator version 4.0 browser, select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu along the top navigational bar of the browser. From here, click on the "Advanced" option. Verify that the boxes labelled Enable Java and Enable JavaScript have been populated with check marks.
If you are using any Internet Explorer version 3.x browser, take the following steps:
1. From the browser's top tool bar, select "View".
2. From the selections provided, choose "Options".
3. Click on the "Security" folder.
4. Verify that the box labelled "Enable Java Programs" has a check mark present. If not, click on the box to enable the JavaScript.
On some older versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you can enable the JavaScript by completing the following steps:
1. From the browser's top tool bar, select "Preferences".
2. From the selections provided, choose "Languages".
3. Verify that the option boxes present here with references to Java and JavaScript have a check mark present. If not, click on the box to enable the JavaScript.
If you are using an Internet Explorer version 4.0 browser, please apply the following steps:
1. From the browser's top tool bar, select "View".
2. From the selection's provided, choose "Options".
3. Click on the "Advanced" folder.
4. Click on the Java entry.
5. Verify that the boxes labelled "Java JIT Compiler enabled" and "Java logging enabled" have a check mark present. If not, click on the box to enable this function.
